The St Bernadette’s FC would like to offer its congratulations to Steve Lavis on his nomination as 2023 Club Person of the Year at the Hills Football Gala Dinner last night.
Until this season, St Bernadette’s FC had not fielded an over 35’s men’s team. Steve was the driving force in making the 2023 season the year that changed.
St Bernadette’s FC strives to promote a culture of a healthy lifestyle for both parents and children where you can ‘play football with your mates’. With this in mind, Steve was personally responsible for securing sponsorships from 5 different local businesses and recruiting and coaching our inaugural men’s over 35’s team and through his hard work and initiative has set the club up for many years of success. The Club is looking to build on this success by introducing a senior women’s team in coming seasons.
Steve is also a committee member and sets up the playing fields every Saturday at Eric Mobbs Reserve. He also coaches on of our Under 10’s team.
The impact Steve has made across the age spectrum throughout the St Bernadette’s FC, parish and St Bernadette’s Primary, Castle Hill this year has been enormous and we cannot think of a more deserving recipient this year!
Please join us in thanking Steve for his efforts and well-deserved nomination for Club Person of the Year for 2023!
Our under 13/4s capped off another successful season, making it back-to-back grand finals and finishing runners-up on this occasion. Congratulations to the kids on their continued success. Bring on Season 2024!
Oh yes they did! Our 12/5’s are 2022 Premiers!!!!!!
Elliot Dalton was voted Best on Field for embodying the spirit and sportsmanship of junior soccer in the game by the referees. Coach Belinda could not be prouder or more humbled by this fantastic group of players and all that they achieved throughout the season!
