Hills Football summer season wrap by U6 Tigers coach, Adam Keremelevski

“What a fantastic competition. It was amazing to see hundreds of kids playing football all at once and all in the right spirit of the game. Our mighty under 6 (kindy) Tigers played in the under 7’s competition,  so were playing against kids in Year 1, but that didn’t stop our team from winning 4 out of their 9 games. They finished their last game in emphatic style – winning 12-2.  Both myself and all the parents were very proud of our kids.

The team had to quickly adjust to some new rules including the introduction of corners. The junior referees did a great job overall, all the kids were awarded with a quality medal and certificate which included some great freebies. I would definitely recommend all other SBFC teams to participate in the next Summer competition.”

Fantastic news for our 2018 players.

The NSW Government has initiated a rebate of $100 per child, per year for the next four years.

The voucher can be used for registration or membership fees for structured activities of no less than eight weeks’ duration that provide a moderate to vigorous level of physical activity. The vouchers will be redeemable through approved sport, fitness and physical activity providers upon registration.

SBFC is working with Hills Football to enable this rebate to be used for registration for the 2018 season. Our registration will officially open in February 2018, once the rebate is activated. In the meantime please complete the Expressions of interest form on our website, so we can get teams coordinated.

Another great round of soccer as we head towards the end of the season. Congratulations to all our Player of the Week winners, proudly sponsored by Century 21 Castle Hill. Our teams had such good games, U7 Tigers awarded ‘Player of the Week’ to the entire team. We are loving the team spirit that is alive and well at SBFC.

Next weekend we have team photos at Eric Mobbs, and the BBQ will be running. We will also have a free BANANA for every player, sponsored by Independent Locksmiths & Security.   Some of our club parents have organised a chocolate drive fundraiser for the club. Managers will hand out boxes of chocolates on Saturday for our club families to sell.  All profits will go towards putting on a fantastic end of year Gala Day. We look forward to seeing you all then.

And what about Arsenal visiting Sydney and playing a friendly against the Wanderers. So many SBFC families were out at Homebush on Saturday night to watch the game. We even spotted Fr Michael with the Frketic family, soaking up the atmosphere in almost the front row. While the McGoverns endured a bit of vertigo in the nosebleed section. The Wanderers scored a fantastic goal, got to play against some of their heroes, and all in-front of their largest crowd of 83,221. Fantastic atmosphere.
