ALDI KICK OFF PROGRAM

SBFC has an opportunity to run an ALDI Kick Off Program for the last 6 Weeks of our Winter Season (30 June 2018 to 4 August 2018).  The program is designed for children aged 4 to 6, as an introduction to the game before they sign up to an U6’s team for 2019.

  • Weekly 45 minute sessions that build skills through games and simple drills delivered in an engaging and inclusive environment.
  • Every player gets plenty of time on the ball and the prime aim of each session is for children to build fundamental motor skills.
  • Each child also receives an ALDI MiniRoos Participant Pack when they register – which includes a bag, ball, and a water bottle.
  • We have 10 vacancies for the program.
  • We will use the SBFC Kit (goals, balls etc) to support the program.

The cost is $50.00 for 6 weeks.  To be run on Saturday Mornings at 9:30am at Eric Mobbs (45 mins) starting Saturday 30th June 2018.

The program is supported by Football NSW, Hills Football, SBFC and ALDI.  Registrations can be complete by the following link, it will also be released on FaceBook as well.

Happy International Women’s Day

Happy International Women’s Day

I thought today was a good day to shout out to all the women and girls involved in the SBFC community. This year we have more girls registered than ever before and some wonderful coaches, managers and refs.

This is also a great opportunity to congratulate Sarah Lievano, who has been selected into the Hills Football Girls Rep team. Sarah will be playing rep games every 2nd Saturday of the season. Sarah’s mum Mafee has done a fantastic job to pull together our first ever female team for SBFC, playing U12 girls comp on a Sunday. This team is made up of Sarah and some of her rep mates, along with St Bernadette’s girls. Coached by Mafee and managed by Joanne Frketic. We look forward to watching you through the season.

And girls remember as you play, you are inspiring all the young girls at St Bernadettes to be brave and get involved in this male dominated sport. And what a role model we all have this year with Sam Kerr, 2018 Young Australian of the Year and 2017 AFC Women’s Player of the Year.

Our U9’s coach, Louis, will be making a visit to assembly and he’ll be drawing names out of a hat for winners. You must be registered and paid to be in with a chance to win.

SBFC appoints Wanderers Community Coaches for Thursday night training in 2018

SBFC appoints Wanderers Community Coaches for Thursday night training in 2018

We are very excited to let you know we have appointed the Wanderers to run our Thursday night training sessions.

Wanderers Community Coaches will be appointed to our club. From 5pm to 6pm one coach will train the U6 & U7 teams together. Another coach will train the U8 & U9 teams. Then from 6pm to 7:15pm one coach will run the U10 & U11 team and the other coach will train the U12 & U13 teams.

Training is comprised of equal elements of team cohesion and individual technical and tactical development and awareness. It is designed while being a challenging, engaging and extremely enjoyable program.

This training is valued at $60 per child for the season but there will be no extra cost to your membership fee.

The benefits to the players are great as they will learn excellent soccer skills. Each age group bracket will have a tailor-made program suited to their needs. Sessions will be fun and exciting, assuring players engagement and development for the season.

This is also a great benefit to our volunteer coaches, usually Dad’s who are trying to race from work to Eric Mobbs to train their team.  All teams will still need a volunteer Coach and Manager and teams will still need their Coach for Saturday games. But Coaches, on a Thursday night the pressure if off.

We trust our players will be very excited to be associated with such an amazing club. Thank you Wanderers

Summer Football wrap for U8 Sharks

Summer Football wrap for U8 Sharks

The U8 Sharks had a great time playing the Hills Football Summer Football season at Kellyville Park on a Thursday night this term. We lost Paloma & Dillon from our winter team, but gained Isaac Frketic (who usually plays for the U8 Tigers). We also replaced our winter coaches of Brendan Sweeney and Enzo Giallonardo with Ryan McGovern.

The boys were playing up in the Under 9’s comp, and for the first few games they really noticed the difference playing against kids in Year 3. But they skilled up and we had some great wins, no better than our last game. The final goal had all us parents in awe. Isaac Frketic kicking in from the sideline, straight to David who headed the ball straight into the goal – amazing stuff.

These boys have developed their football skills so well. Dylan has some fancy footwork going on, Daniel boots the ball down the field, Liam is a happy goalie and is doing some great straight kicks, Cooper is our little pocket rocket, Denzel is dangerous at attacking, Jack has scored some fantastic goals, Isaac Frketic – we’ll happily keep you in the Sharks team. And as for our Colombian duo, David and Isaac, you two are crazy cats and super soccer stars.

Boys you’ll be playing like this one day –  https://youtu.be/hc4-yJS5hcI

Thanks Hills Football for a great summer comp. We are looking forward to being back together for the 2018 Winter season.

SBFC U7 Thunderstorms. Coached by Taylor Egan, and managed by Alana Castellan – both year 6 students.  This is Alana’s wrap.

“Congratulations Thunderstorms. During this summer season you all played your very best and we had so much fun together. This was my first time managing a team and you were all great in helping to support me. It was also Taylor’s first time coaching and he did an amazing job and we both thank the parents who came each week to support us. With winning nearly all our games it was an amazing season. I wish lots of luck to all you awesome future Socceroos. From your manager, Alana.”

Summer Football Season – it’s a wrap!

Summer Football Season – it’s a wrap!

Hills Football summer season wrap by U6 Tigers coach, Adam Keremelevski

“What a fantastic competition. It was amazing to see hundreds of kids playing football all at once and all in the right spirit of the game. Our mighty under 6 (kindy) Tigers played in the under 7’s competition,  so were playing against kids in Year 1, but that didn’t stop our team from winning 4 out of their 9 games. They finished their last game in emphatic style – winning 12-2.  Both myself and all the parents were very proud of our kids.

The team had to quickly adjust to some new rules including the introduction of corners. The junior referees did a great job overall, all the kids were awarded with a quality medal and certificate which included some great freebies. I would definitely recommend all other SBFC teams to participate in the next Summer competition.”
